As staff working closely with children and young people with additional support needs, we have seen first-hand the significant benefits of Rebound Therapy within our school. It has become an essential, enjoyable, and highly valued part of our provision.
Rebound Therapy has a clear positive impact on learners’ physical development, particularly balance, postural control, coordination, and strength. For some pupils, it provides one of the few opportunities to access safe, supported physical activity, enabling progress that is not achievable in other settings.
We also see strong benefits for emotional regulation and wellbeing. Many learners are calmer, more settled and better able to engage in learning following sessions. The predictable structure and sensory input support regulation, reduce anxiety and improve readiness to participate in other activities.
Importantly, Rebound Therapy is fun. Learners are highly motivated and experience joy and success, which supports confidence and positive attitudes to physical activity.
