IN THE PAST there have been few special needs trampoline
competitions, and there have been virtually none for people with significant extra needs.
However we are pleased to say that in September 2011, this started to change.
A team of dedicated Rebound Therapy trainers joined forces to develop a framework for participation and
competition events for people with a very wide range of needs.
THE PROGRAMME INCLUDES participation and celebration opportunities for people
with profound and complex needs - a new and exciting expansion to the concept of inclusion; these
competitions really are fully inclusive.
THE COMPETITIONS COMPRISE exercises and routines taken from the Winstrada trampoline development plan.
The categories range from Grade 1 to Grade 8. See below for routines.
GRADES 1 AND 2 are regarded as 'participation opportunity and
celebration events' for those with profound or complex needs. Physical and verbal support will be permitted.
There is no limit to the number of bounces or repetitions of moves.

also completed the Rebound Therapy 'Rebound Plus' (Into-Mainstream) add-on module.
Competition organisers may at their discretion also accept entries from trampoline coaches who have completed
a recognised mainstream trampolining course providing they have also completed the Rebound Therapy training
course and can show adequate experience in working with people with disabilities.
IF YOU ORGANISE a SEN trampolining competition at your school or centre,
please inform us so that we can report on it in our newsletter and Facebook page.
