Eddy Anderson - "The Godfather"

Eddy Anderson M.C.S.P. CERT.ED is generally recognised as the founder, or as he is affectionately known, “The Godfather” of Rebound Therapy.

Eddy has been a paratrooper, a specialist exercise therapist in the RAF, a remedial gymnast, a physiotherapist and a qualified teacher before becoming the headmaster of Springwell Special Needs school where he developed the techniques for using the trampoline for therapeutic exercise for children with severe special needs.

Eddy uses rebound therapy to facilitate movement, promote balance, promote increase or decrease in muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and exercise tolerance, and to improve communication skills.

Now retired from teaching, Eddy continues his work in rebound therapy by running training courses at the request of schools, NHS groups, adult groups and charity agencies.

He has written papers on rebound therapy and over the years has gathered a wealth of materials produced by a full range of professionals working in special needs. We hope in the future, to be able to reproduce some of these papers on this website.
Please also feel free to contribute your own views.

Eddy is also the inventor of the Original Floatsation (TM) device which is used to facilitate relaxation and movement in water for people with profound and multiple impairments.

Eddy is happy to assist any student looking for information and can be contacted via this website.
